Transforming Healthcare

At Prairie Rose Family Medicine, we’re transforming healthcare by raising the bar to its highest level.

Dr. Dunbar founded Prairie Rose Family Medicine — a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice — to provide a more personalized, comprehensive level of care to her patients. She was inspired to adopt the DPC model after experiencing its benefits firsthand as a patient herself. By having a small group of patients, the DPC model allows Dr. Dunbar to spend more time with each individual, truly listen, and better understand their story — ultimately leading to improved health outcomes.

With more face-to-face time, her goal is to focus on your health through compassionate, personalized care and to partner with you on your healthcare journey.

As a member, you’ll have direct access to a board-certified physician by phone, text, or email. We offer same- or next-day appointments, telemedicine visits when appropriate, minimal wait times, and longer office visits — because your time and well-being matter.

The Prairie Rose

The pink rose is a deeply meaningful symbol for Dr. Dunbar. Her Great-Grandmother, Eva Floyd (Cornell), born in 1908, was one of the most influential people in Dr. Dunbar’s life. Eva attended college in the 1920s — one of the first women in the family to pursue higher education — but left to care for her Mother, who was experiencing severe health problems.

Eva’s favorite flower was the pink rose. As a child, Dr. Dunbar remembers visiting her and walking through her garden. Eva’s strength, intelligence, and kindness have always served as a source of inspiration. The pink rose stands as a symbol of love and resilience, passed down through generations.

The prairie rose is a nod to Dr. Dunbar’s — and her family’s — Iowa roots. As the official state flower of Iowa, the wild prairie rose is a reminder of beauty and strength growing exactly where it’s planted.
